Once upon a time...
My early career began working in advertising sales for a major global publishing house. Working in a fancy London office with high-flying, glamourous magazine journalists, I naively thought this would be my (literal) foot in the door to share with them the writing world I had long dreamed of. In reality, we only shared space in the canteen queue.
Eventually it seemed life had other plans for me and after a few years I moved away from advertising, working various roles but always writing in the background.
However it would seem that my time in advertising left its mark on me and I soon realised that writing words that persuade was where my passion really lay. And so began my journey as a Copywriter.
...She believed she could, so she did.
Since this time almost a decade ago, I’ve written for international fashion retailers, hotel chains, spas, car dealerships and many more brands.
For me, crafting landing pages, adverts, launches and emails that sell is something I genuinely love. Once I’m in “the zone” (which usually involves silence and a cup of coffee), I will produce for you creative copy that speaks to the hearts and mind of your audience, that captivates, motivates and persuades so you can get the sales you want.
Working with brands taught me many things. How words can be powerful in making people spend their hard-earned money in return for goods of service.
I moved into the charity sector and spent some years working with large INGOs and NGOs, creating copy for fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, major donor giving, grant funding and more.
But I always dipped in and out of working with brands, working with eco and green businesses who were driven with wider purpose.
And I loved the challenge – writing to persuade people to part with their money in return for a benefit they may not see, is a challenge not for the faint-hearted!
By using emotion, storytelling, and giving psychology, I have helped generate millions in income for social action organisations and sustainable businesses.
